Meet Michael

I am Dr Michael Parkes,

I’ve spent my life learning to heal through direct experience, academic education and specialised training.

I was given a body that required attention to address chronic pain by dealing with spinal misalignment, major accidents, mineral dysregulation, overconsumption, polluted environments, and difficult social relationships that all had long-term impacts on my health.

Each of these challenges became a learning opportunity to improve my health for a better quality of life.

They led me deeper into understanding:

• The relationship between spine, bone, and muscle

• The role of minerals and nutrition in the body’s energy system

• The impact of psychological, semantic and somatic memory

• And how all of this connects to our sense of resonance and alignment with something greater

This has led me to develop my own protocol ‘Minerals - Muscles - Memories’. One I now offer to clients!

  • Doctor of Philosophy – Energy Systems
    Exploring the interface between plant physiology, human physiology, and building systems to understand molecular exchange for optimising energy use, human health and nutrient-rich plant production for engineering healthy urban environments.

    Masters in Environment
    Focused on education about pollution, ecological destruction, and the direct/indirect impact of industrial systems on human health, food quality, and long-term disease patterns in society.

    Bachelor of Medical Sciences (Nutrition)
    Grounded in human physiology; metabolic, muscular, nutritional, and medical systems; to understand how the body functions and maintains health.

    Postgraduate Diploma – Innovation & Service Management
    Understanding how industries and corporations structure systems around human behaviour to shape consumption, services, and daily life.

  • Root Cause Protocol (RCP) – Consultation Training
    Training in the Root Cause Protocol approach, focused on restoring mineral balance, supporting energy production, and addressing the underlying causes of symptoms rather than managing them in isolation.

    Bodywork & Physical Therapies (20+ years)
    Extensive direct experimentation across modalities including Ayurvedic massage, Thai massage, Traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, dry needling, trigger point therapy, nerve activation, and lymphatic movement to understand the relationship between muscles, nerves, minerals, and energy in the body.

    Yoga Practice & Study (15+ years)
    Deep exploration of movement, breath, and structure through Ashtanga, Hatha, Yin, and somatic practices; working with pain, alignment, and long-term physical health.

    Herbal Medicine Training (France)
    Working with plant-based medicine; oils, extracts, teas, and small-dose applications for supporting both acute and chronic health conditions.

  • Embodied Awakening & Somatic Integration Training
    Deep work across body, mind, and emotional systems integrating movement, breathwork, and somatic practices to release trauma, access unconscious patterns, and restore energetic flow of intuition, spiritual awareness, and higher states of perception.  

    Psychoanalysis (10 years)
    Working with dreams, associations, and behavioural patterns to transform relationships to self, family, and group dynamics.

    Social Innovation & Organisational Analysis (10+ years)
    Focused on human behaviour, habits, and group dynamics; understanding how change happens for individuals and within systems, and how this impacts health and life outcomes.

    Grubb Institute of Behavioural Studies (UK)
    Advanced group relations work understanding how individuals operate within systems, including emotional dynamics, roles, and unseen dimensions such as dreams and the wider field of a group.

A Different Way

Modern approaches we rely on today are built on beliefs about disease that are over a hundred years old.

These are medical beliefs that don’t reflect a deeper understanding of the relationship between body, mind, and energy.

My practice is about offering a new way of imagining your health as a whole human system and defining your role in it!

Your First Session

Our work begins with a conversation:

  • • Book a free 20 minute consult to see how we might work

    • Explore any symptoms or diagnoses you’ve been given

  • • Understand your experience in your body

  • • Review your daily life and routines

  • • Plan your internal data (bloods and hair mineral analysis)

From there, we build a plan together.

How We Work Together

Understand

We explore your symptoms, history and health challenges through a process of deep inquiry into your life.

Collaborative Action

You’re the process focus. We decide the immediate actions to start, via hair mineral analysis, blood analysis, habit changes or referrals as needed.

Design

We regroup after collaborative actions have been taken to analysis the baseline data, design a daily plan to address mineral dysregulation and muscle development.

Practice your Plan

You learn to master your practice building new memories or habits as you begin supplementing minerals, change your consumption and movement patterns everyday.

  • Minerals

    Supporting the body’s internal biochemistry, energy and nutritional balance with a focus on the primary elements for optimum bones and blood health.

  • Muscles

    Working with structure, posture, and the articulation between bones, movement elongation. We must work the muscle and not the bone, to make space and clear energies.

  • Memories

    Exploring the experiences you’ve had with their somatic residues, what you’ve consumed, lived through, and carried which activate how our mind shapes your present physical and emotional state.
